Professional memberships

The International Association of Conference Interpreters (AIIC), whose headquarters are in Geneva, is the only worldwide association of professional conference interpreters, with over 2,700 members in five continents. All AIIC members practise their profession in compliance with the working conditions laid down by the Association and with its Code of Professional Ethics. This website offers not only clear information on the Association, the way it operates, its professional ethics and working conditions, but also highly readable articles (in English and French) on the world of conference interpretation.

In 2007 AIB joined the Barcelona Convention Bureau, a pioneering programme in Spain set up by Turisme de Barcelona to support event organisation and promote our city as a conference and meeting venue.

ESPaiic is an association that includes all AIIC members whose professional address is in Spain (over ninety in number). Its website provides general information - in Spanish - on the association, its members and activities held in Spain, as well as a wealth of material relevant to the profession.
