Behind the scenes > Silvia Ros
  • Silvia Ros

The heart and soul of AIB, the hub of all communications – that’s Silvia. But she’s also far more than AIB’s secretary. Silvia is a passionate chef and skilfully masters the kitchen. After a stint on the Barcelona Olympic Committee, she moved into the hotel industry and cut her teeth on a pastry catering business. As if that wasn’t enough, she’s also a keen sportswoman, splitting her spare time between field hockey, paddle tennis, skiing and rambling with her dog. But what she’s most passionate about is her family, who she shares her many hobbies with.

Behind the scenes > Ursula Zuber
  • Ursula Zuber

Our first honorary member and the most ‘neutral’ member of all is Ursula, who’s Swiss and has Spanish and French citizenship. As the member with the longest career in interpreting, she’s travelled far and wide and met numerous personalities. Her retirement has given her even more time for her favourite leisure pursuits: gardening, pets, travelling, and good food.

Behind the scenes > Pilar García Crecente
  • Pilar García Crecente

Pilar, born in Galicia (in northwestern Spain), decided to settle down close to Barcelona several years ago. Her dulcet tones are enchanting, both within and without the booth, and she is also expert in marketing. An avid reader, she splits her time between interpreting and teaching. A former student of physics, Pilar keeps her finger on the pulse of all new developments in this area.

Behind the scenes > Patrícia Lluch
  • Patrícia Lluch

Half Spanish, half German, Patrícia lived abroad for many years before she finally made her wish come true and came back to her beloved Barcelona. She's been all over Europe - Italy, Belgium, Germany - not to mention frequent getaways in Turkey, where she learned this "exotic" language and enjoys spending time in Istanbul, her second most favourite city. Tai chi and Pilates sessions are ideal to offset the wear and tear of all this globetrotting; maybe that's why she's so full of energy and yet disciplined and persistent at everything she takes on.

Behind the scenes > Mireia Bas
  • Mireia Bas

Half-French half-Spanish, Mireia is our in-house philologist. She’s passionate about every aspect of language and communications and has worked in several related areas: teacher of children and adults, translator, sworn translator/interpreter, and teacher of Catalan and Spanish as a foreign language. But what she really loves is singing, especially in French and Portuguese, and she never wastes the opportunity to do so when among friends. Mireia is a mover-shaker and if she can’t move she might just climb the walls, or at least a tree or a rock-face anyway!

Behind the scenes > Michelle Hof
  • Michelle Hof

Born in Canada to a Dutch father and a French-Canadian mother, it was the search for her roots that first sent Michelle off to Québec and then the Netherlands. Ever the restless soul, Michelle then spent long stints in Germany and the UK before ultimately settling down on Tenerife. These days, when she’s not busy interpreting for the European Institutions, Michelle spends every free moment with her family, although she hopes to one day find time again for her two big loves, yoga and scuba diving.
